Alchemy Lake owes its name to Zuo Ci, the founder of alchemy during the Eastern Han Dynasty, who practiced Taoism and refined elixirs here. The lake spans a surface area of 22,600 square meters, reaching a depth of 13 meters with a total storage capacity of 100,000 cubic meters.

The waters of Alchemy Lake are crystal clear, shimmering like a flawless piece of green jade. Encircled by a gallery of majestic peaks, the lake serves as a natural mirror, perfectly capturing the drifting white clouds and the boundless blue sky. The surrounding verdant cliffs and sturdy pines cast their reflections upon the surface, weaving a vibrant, silken tapestry across the tranquil water. Drifting in a boat upon the lake, one feels transported to the Jade Pool of the immortals. Nearby attractions include Zuo Ci’s Alchemy Room, the Herb Roasting Terrace, and the Divine Cat Catching Mouse Stone.
