As the 3rd “Tianzhushan Cup” Youth Peking Opera Amateur Competition continues in full swing, the organizing committee has carefully created an immersive operatic art journey that combines stage performance, master instruction, and landscape study tours. We sincerely invite opera colleagues and dedicated enthusiasts from across the country to gather in the hometown of Cheng Changgeng — to step onto the stage and display their talent, to travel through mountains and waters and refresh the spirit, and to learn from famous masters and refine their skills. Join us for this artistic celebration where the elegant charm of China’s national opera meets the magnificent scenery of Tianzhushan.

I. Theme of the Event

This showcase is the nighttime open stage of the 3rd “Tianzhushan Cup” Youth Peking Opera Amateur Competition, designed to provide Peking Opera lovers from around the country, as well as contestants’ family and friends, with a free, inclusive, and spontaneous platform for performance.
Every evening from 19:30 to 21:30, the Jinghuang Grand Stage at Xuehuli will center on live band accompaniment, creating an “unrestricted Peking Opera night.”

III. Time and Venue

  1. Time:
    July 27–31, 2026, every evening from 19:30 to 21:30
    (5 performances in total)

  2. Venue:
    Jinghuang Grand Stage, Xuehuli Block
    (Open-air waterfront stage; in case of rain, the performances will be moved indoors to the Jinghuang Hall of the Tianzhushan Study Travel Base.)

IV. Performance Formats

Programs may include a variety of traditional opera forms, such as:

  • Traditional Peking Opera excerpts

  • Peking Opera ensemble singing

  • Jingge (Peking Opera-style songs)

  • Opera dance and other related stage performances

V. Accommodation, Meals, and Transport

Accommodation will be arranged uniformly at Le Tianran Hotel, Qianshan City.
The fee is RMB 200 per person per day, including:

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

  • Accommodation

  • Unified local transportation within the city

  • Personal accident insurance

VI. Registration Guidelines

  1. Eligible participants:
    Members of Peking Opera amateur associations from provinces and cities nationwide, opera dance teams, Jingge enthusiasts, and contestants’ family and friends.

  2. Program requirements:

    • Plain singing and costumed singing performances must not exceed 8 minutes.

    • Group ensemble singing, Jingge, opera dance, and similar performances should involve 5–20 participants and must not exceed 12 minutes.

  3. Accompaniment requirements:
    Live band accompaniment will be provided on site.
    For Jingge, opera dance, and similar performances, participants should prepare their own high-quality MP3 accompaniment files and submit them to the organizing committee in advance.

  4. Costumes, makeup, and props:
    All costumes, makeup, and props must be prepared by the performers themselves.

  5. Performance rules:
    Participants may register for and appear in multiple performance sessions. The specific show schedule will be arranged uniformly by the organizing committee.
    In addition, audience interaction programs may also be arranged on site, with no more than two per evening.
