On September 16, Chinese and international photographers participating in the second edition of the “Beautiful Anhui in Pictures: Images of Anhui” 2026 Photography Season visited Tianzhushan Scenic Area and the Xuehuli Historic and Cultural District. Through a field photography and creative documentation trip, they used cameras as brushes and light and shadow as ink to record Anhui’s natural landscapes and cultural heritage.

At Tianzhushan, the photography group explored core attractions including Tianzhu Peak, Mystery Valley, Tianchi Peak, and Hundred-step Ladder. They captured the dramatic and rugged beauty of the granite landscape, together with the graceful grandeur of the Wan Mountains and waters. Tianzhushan’s granite peak forests are renowned for four distinctive features—extraordinary peaks, unusual rocks, secluded caves, and beautiful waters. The magnificence and elegance of this UNESCO Global Geopark were captured frame by frame through the sound of camera shutters.

Beside Alchemy Lake, the photographers watched a performance of Tianzhushan Health-Preservation Exercises. The movements were calm and elegant, while the overall rhythm and atmosphere appeared natural and harmonious. Deeply inspired, the visitors actively followed the performers and learned the movements themselves, experiencing the poetic spirit of wellness in an immersive way.

As night fell, the group entered the Xuehuli Historic and Cultural District to watch the immersive waterborne night-tour performance Lakebound Dreams: Xiao Qiao’s Wedding. Using the lake as a natural stage and its waterscape as a real-life setting, the production reconstructs a story from the Three Kingdoms and unfolds a vivid expression of Eastern aesthetics.

Indonesian photographer David Lumentut and Monegasque photographer Paul Raffaello Maria Mosti both praised Tianzhushan’s scenery and distinctive performances. From the granite peak forests rising like a pillar supporting the sky to the bluestone lanes beside Xuehu, Chinese and international photographers completed a multidimensional visual record of Anhui’s landscapes, culture, and people.
